WRCB turned to BDI to give them an all new more modern updated look that would last for years and still give them the flexibility and versatility of a much larger market. The challenge presented was to give them multiple presentation areas along with a flexible interview area that could double as a secondary newscast for mornings and weekends. Along with these priorities they needed a state of the art weather center worthy of the leader in the market.
BDI designed changeable LED video backdrops for soft backgrounds to make the talent pop on-air. A large center 103” plasma monitor gave them the ability to route scenic images of the market to motion graphic packages. Along with LED backlit light boxes that conveyed a more modern contemporary look and transformed their look overnight.
The weather center was designed to give them the presentation tools to better illustrate what happens during weather events and yet had the look and feel of a large weather center. Lastly the multipurpose area was designed to roll into place a smaller secondary news desk or light weight furniture for interviews. Mobile monitor carts gave them the flexibility to brand the segments as needed. Overall this is a great example of what can be accomplished with the right blend of technology to fit within a smaller market budget.
