NET. wanted to launch a Multi-Platform Entertainment News Network that would be the first of its kind in Indonesia. With so many channels and viewer choices available, NET. knew they had one shot at grabbing their market share. They needed to do the launch right, and did they ever ! Wishnutama Kusubandio, one of the founders of NET. selected BDI to design and develop a state of the art studio like no other in Indonesia. He chose BDI because of our international experience and creativity to deliver their vision.
Net. chose to construct a new studio on the 28th floor in a high rise in downtown Jakarta which started as an empty shell. They acquired three floors for their operations all centered around this new studio.
The challenge was to have maximum flexibility, as a multi-platform service would continue to evolve and the sets had to add to this and not limit their creativity. They required three main environments that had multiple backgrounds in each. News, Interview Area and a Standup-Special Segment area.
The final design includes a circular anchor island that gave them 280 degrees of multiple backgrounds. Some of the various backgrounds include a newsroom / control room, large scale video wall, entertainment and performance area. The sets also include a multi-purpose interview area with an adjoining performance area. The green room itself is a design showpiece !
The hard launch was on May 26 after promoting it on YouTube and various social media sites for more than a month. The launch was kicked off with a three hour live concert shown on their Network in an eight thousand seat arena that rivaled anything in the US or Europe. Here are links to the project, and a video of the private launch party….
