600 Square Meter Studio

Convergence Media Studio

Turn Key Project:

  • Design and Development
  • Construction, international shipping and installation
  • Lighting Design and Direction

Technology:

  • Multiple high-resolution LED Video Displays
  • Multiple LCD video walls and single displays
  • Large Barco videowall
  • Advanced studio lighting fixtures with infinite color palettes washing the set areas
  • Robotic camera system on tracks
  • LED Color Changing Lightboxes and background accent lighting

Technical innovation is everywhere with emphasis on the concept of media convergence.  There are two floors in the studio and a total of nine studio areas all outfitted for news production in the form of conversation, storytelling, information sharing, multimedia interaction, and mobile projection.    The second story mezzanine is placed in the design for great views of the main studio set areas on the floor below shooting underneath the main studio lighting.

The main anchor desk rotates into three distinctly different backgrounds for different news programs.  One background contains a control room and an artistic display of vertical LED video towers.   A second background features a large Barco videowall and a color changing display of textured plexiglass.  The third background features a tall tower display and a large LCD videowall.

The tall tower display is also used as a Social Media Set with integrated LCD monitor.  This area blends into a moving runway of LCD Video in the floor in front of an LCD videowall.  A robotic camera on a track moves along with the talent as they walk down the video runway.   A sweeping glass staircase at the end ascends to a mezzanine level with a skybox style “glass studio”.    The glass staircase becomes a beautiful background element for a large interview set with custom furniture and a large window style background of LED Video display.  Under the mezzanine is a standup area with tracking LCD monitors and LED video display and a large Secondary News Set with a unique sculptural desk and LCD videowall background.

The artistic color saturated overall style in the studio was achieved by award winning Lighting Designer, Nick Hutak, and an extensive array of the latest technology in studio lighting fixtures and control.
